About Our Homestead

Sparrow & Hearth Homestead is rooted in family, faith, and the Appalachian land we call home- literally.

Jenna was raised on the very land where Sparrow & Hearth Homestead now stands. The homestead is centered around her great-grandmother’s home, carrying forward generations of family history, hard work, and stewardship. What began as a childhood home, has grown into a place where traditions are honored and new memories are made. Austin grew up just down the road. Though their paths crossed during their school years, life took them in different directions for a time. Years later when Jenna was 25 and Austin was 28, they reconnected and quickly realized they were building toward the same dreams. Together, we have poured our hearts into reviving and growing the homestead, creating a life centered on family, livestock, self-sufficiency, and sharing the fruits of our labor with our community.

Here, the smallest things matter. The Sparrow reminds us of Matthew 10:29- that not even the smallest creatures fall outside of God's care. The Hearth is the center of the home- the place where warmth gathers, bread rises, and stories are told. Homestead to us, means more than a place. It means growing toward self-sufficiency. Living slower; working beautifully. Producing food that nourishes body and spirit.

While we sell eggs and baked goods at home, we are beginning a journey of selling natural chews. These are dehydrated one-ingredient and species-appropriate chews/treats. This includes rabbit ears with fur, cow ears both with and without fur, duck heads, duck feet, chicken feet, beef trachea, beef tendons, beef scapula, goat cheek, and bully sticks. While I don't make these in-house, I buy them from companies in Ohio, Virginia, and New Jersey. I am always looking for new chews to offer. Have an idea? Message me!

Lastly, as a fellow healthcare worker, all healthcare workers will receive 10% off of orders $100+. Proof of occupation is required.
